BIG DAY Birthday Card

I still have a few cards to share from my last “Saturday Stamp Time” class.  This was a fun birthday card we made using the “BIG DAY” stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.  We used our new Pink Pirouette Blendabilites to create the ombre-looking background.  To get this look, we used the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper.  This is also a FREE product that you can choose when you order $50 or more during our Sale-A-Bration Sales Period.  This white paper features a glossy white pattern that is perfect for coloring using a variety of techniques.  So this time, we chose the striped pattern, and colored with the Blendabilites.  I used the darkest shade for about 5-6 rows, then switched to the medium shade, and lastly on to the lightest shade.  Ombre Birthday 1

We also used the Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight Blendabilites to color in the stamped image.  Did you know that you can ALSO earn the Blendabilites for FREE during Sale-A-Bration?  Yep!  You can get one set for free with each $50 you order.   I used a few new accessories on this card, also……the button is from the Sweet Dreams button collection, and the Bermuda Bay sequin trim is definitely one of my favorite new accessories in the Occasions catalog.  It adds such a fun, festive touch!

I have another SATURDAY STAMP TIME coming up on February 28th.  I would LOVE to have you join us.  We have a great time stampin’ on Saturday morning from 10-12, and you get LOTS of new Stampin’ Up! products.  The next class will feature Birthday cards and our Birthday Bash Designer Series paper.  You’ll get a sampling of many new accessories, also!  RSVP by clicking on MY EVENTS at the top of this page.

Indescribable Gift Card

There is a beautiful new stamp set in the Occasions catalog, designed for Easter, called Indescribable Gift.  It’s “another flower set” that you may think you don’t need.  But wait, you do need it!  Look at this gorgeous card!  We made this at my Saturday Stamp Time last week.  We used the new Pink Pirouette Blendabilities to color the flowers and to add color to the Taffeta Ribbon, as well.

The Something Borrowed Embellishments really added an elegant touch to this birthday card.  And by the way, these words are from the Butterfly Basics Stamp set, but there are beautiful words that come with the stamp set.  You’ll see me using them in the future for some Easter cards.

Indescribable Gift 3

To get the beautiful sparkling effect, I embossed the entire Whisper White cardstock with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  First, color as desired.  Then apply VersaMark ink all over the cardstock.  Sprinkle the entire piece with Iridescent Ice EP, and heat it up with your heat tool.  This little extra step turns your card into a MASTERPIECE!  I think it makes the card so incredibly gorgeous, and in real life, it is just stunning.  I can’t wait to create more sparkly cards!

Lovely Amazing You and new Weekly Deals

Stampin’ Up! introduced a new Photopolymer Stamp Set yesterday that I can’t wait to show you!  It’s called Lovely Amazing You.  What a sweet name!  I am showing you some samples that our concept artists have created so you can see how amazing it really is!

Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer

I love seeing new images, and swirly-curly letters like these.    I think my favorite is “you make my heart happy”.  I really think the most popular one will be the CHOCOLATE one……but if you know me well, you know that I don’t like chocolate too much.  I know, I know……you can’t understand that!  Hope you enjoy these samples and will consider heading to MY STORE to purchase your set!  (Item 140594, $14.95)

Butterfly Thinlets Card

Isn’t this gorgeous?  I love the “romantic” look of this card!  So pretty……it could be for a shower, a wedding, a girlfriend’s birthday, or even a Sympathy card.  Don’t you think?

This is one of the cards we will make at Saturday Stamp Time!  Attendees will receive half a package of this DSP,  Something Borrowed, and Pink Pirouette Blendabilities — as well as many other goodies!   I used the Blendabilities to color a few of the smallest flowers on this paper.  Voila!  It takes on a whole new look when you add some “pop” of color to it.  The pretty Sahara Sand button is from the Sweet Dreams package of buttons.  Yes, I took a button from the “baby” collection and it was the perfect touch for this card.  I added a pearl in the center and colored the pearl with Pink Pirouette Blendabilities.

We have Saturday Stamp Time at my house about every 3 weeks.  Please watch my blog and my website for future dates.  Your class fee pays for several products from the Stampin’ Up! catalogs, and you learn new ways to use the products you receive.  You can also purchase kits if you can’t attend.  Contact me if you have any questions!

TIP:  Use a VERY light touch when coloring on the paper to prevent a lot of bleeding.  The Alcohol Markers quickly absorb into the fibers of the DSP, and If you look really close you will see that it looks as if I colored out of the lines.  I really didn’t, they just bleed very quickly!

The Butterfly Thinlets are sold for $24.95.  Three sizes you will love!  The outline (smallest) shape coordinates with the Butterfly Basics stamp set.

Petal Potpourri Cards

I’m headed to Stampin’ Up! Leadership today!  Looking forward to fun time stamping and getting TONS of fresh ideas for my classes.  These are samples that I cased from a fellow demonstrator at this blog.  She gave me some great inspiration and I used these cards at my last club class.  The flower and punch are sold as a Bundle, and were one of the first things on my list!  Gotta love the quick and easy punches!  The “Best Day Ever” set is FREE during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase.  Don’t you want to add it all to your list?   You have until the end of March to get all the Sale-A-Bration items that you want!

Mark your calendars for Saturday Stampin’ Class — Saturday, February 7th.  I’d love to have you join me for some fun new techniques and products.  Click on the MY EVENTS link above to see the class details and RSVP for the event.  We have a really fun time on Saturday mornings (about every 2-3 weeks) and we would love to have more in the group!

Peek-A-Boo Card with Window Sheet

flower card 2

Once again……so sorry for not getting to the blog!  I am finally getting settled into a new routine at my new job, all the college kids are back at school, and I still hope to do better at regular posting.  But, there’s this thing called “life” that gets in my way!  But hopefully I can get back into the swing of things.  I’m leaving town tomorrow for Stampin’ Up! Leadership in Orlando.  Super excited for creative time as well as GIRLFRIEND time!

Here is a card that I featured at my January downline meeting as well as with my Stamp Club members.  It was a big hit!  Original idea came from Julie’s Blog  and I’m ever so grateful for other demonstrators who share their creative juices! If you aren’t familiar with her blog, you will definitely want to check it out.  I can only DREAM of blogging like she does 🙂

So I decided to call this card a “Peek A Boo Card” because the stamp image peeks through the Window Sheet on the front.  Here are the details…..hope you’ll give it a try!  Take special note that you must stamp the window sheet with STAZON ink (not any other type!).  And do you see the strip of Polka Dots embossed on the front?  The way I created just that one inch strip was with one of our Textured Impressions Embossing Folder BUT, I bought an extra (when they were on sale) and cut it up.  That way I have just a 1″ strip of Polka Dots for projects like this.  It really works out nicely!  I also ordered an extra one of the hearts — the new Embossing Folder with hearts that is found in the Occasions catalog.  I really think I will enjoy having just a strip of hearts going across the bottom of my projects.

Directions and Dimensions:   Base Card is 4” x 11”. Score in half at 5 ½”. On one end, cut off 2 ¾”. From that small piece cut a 1 ½” x 4” strip. You will use this for the bottom of your card. Window Sheet measures 2” x 4”. Use sticky strip to attach the window sheet to the top and the bottom of the card. Stamp Window Sheet with StazOn Ink. Inside cardstock is 3 ¾” x 5 ¼”. Stamp and embellish as desired.
