I had such a great time catching up with my monthly club ladies tonight………and will enjoy the other group tomorrow night. Oh, how I have missed them! I feel like it has been FOREVER since I saw them last…….with the holidays and all, it just seems way longer than a month! I worked hard in the craft room this weekend to pull together some projects for Valentine’s Day and I love the way they turned out.
We made this “Love You” box for one of our projects using some “old” favorites mixed with some “new” goodies. I used Cherry Cobbler and Riding Hood Red DSP from our Designer Paper Stacks (Regals Collection) for the base of the box and the lid. I blended some More Amore Designer Series Paper, Pool Party Cardstock, and Very Vanilla cardstock for a striking combination. I used some recycled chipboard between the layers of DSP and solid colored cardstock. This makes it VERY stiff, and yet still able to go through the Big Shot with ease!
My ladies used so many Framelits and punches tonight! I’m trying to rub off on them — and make sure they love them as much as I do. We used the Full Heart Punch, the Heart of Hearts Embosslit, the Itty Bitty Banners, the Lables Collection Framelits, the Adorning Accents Borders, and Ruffled Ribbon, too! WOW!
The box is simple, and requires 2 rectangles that are 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I scored one of them at 1″ on all four sides and the other one at 1 1/16″ on all four sides. This tiny little difference in mearsurements will make it possible for the box top to rest easily on the box bottom. This is a fine example of a tiny little bit making a very big difference! Here’s a photo to help you out!
