Posies with a punch!

I found inspiration for this card on someone’s blog……..wish I knew where, but sorry!

I loved the simple, cute little flowers made with various sizes of circle punches.  I added a cute little button to the center of each of them using Designer Buttons from the Subtles collection.  The leaves are punched from the Two-Step Bird Punch — it’s actually the “wings” of the bird.  The words are from “A Word for You” and I used my Perfect Plum marker to omit the “with a cherry on top” — not really appropriate for this card!  I hope you enjoyed this post!

Colors in the flowers are:  Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant, Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette, More Mustard and Daffodil Delight

I hope you had a fun Labor Day Weekend.  Ours was very busy and full of excitement.  We played our High School football game in Grandview on Friday night and had another victory!  We were very late coming in, and it made for a tiring start to the weekend.  Allyson and I traveled to Houston on Saturday to see the Longhorns play the Rice Owls.  Her best friend is a Freshman in the Longhorn Band so it was his first game as a Longhorn…….we had a wonderful time and it was so special to see him playing in such a huge band!  I did a separate post last night with those pictures, so scroll on down if you want to see them.  However, it made for another late night (we got home a 1 am!!!) and this OLD LADY was feeling OLD……..and really, 2 nights in a row up until 1 am is really not good for me!  We had to be up early Sunday for church and I was really, really dragging at this point!   Sunday afternoon I spent at a friend’s house whose husband died of cancer last week.  It was emotionally and physically draining as well, but I was so blessed to be able to help her welcome family and friends who came to visit them.  I must say that I was ECSTATIC that I had nothing on my agenda for Monday’s holiday.  I never even put on my make-up or left the house for anything.  I did some sewing here and there, and made a few stamped cards.  PRAISE THE LORD for a glorious weekend and a restful day yesterday.  I am blessed beyond measure — and I was reminded of that once again as I sat with my grieving friend.  Give those you love a big hug today!!!!
