A little more LOVE…

A little more LOVE YOU MUCH, that is!  This is the DSP in the Love You Much Promotion — it is called Candy Lane.   I really like it because it has pink in it……..but I really like all the papers.  Some of them include Close to Cocoa, too, and that is an added bonus!

I used two of the paper patterns to create a background on my Close to Cocoa card.  I added a knotted ribbon using the Pink Pirouette Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and notched the ends of the ribbon for a little different look.   Now, notice the stamped image?  I stamped the scalloped image on Close to Cocoa cardstock using Chocolate Chip ink so it would be a little darker and bolder.  Then I punched OUT the stamped part in the middle, just making it into a frame, so to speak.  I liked how you could eliminate the words (for those times when we don’t want “hugs and kisses” or we want to use this beyond Valentine’s Day) and I also also liked how you could see the patterned paper in the “window” after I punched out that center circle.  What do you think???

My next step was to decide on what to put in the little round frame………and I came upon my new box of Flower Fusion Too.  Actually I have had it a very long time, just haven’t had a chance to stamp alot, so it has been sad and lonely — tucked away in my office.   I happened to remember that Pink Pirouette and Chocolate Chip were two of the colors in this box (the other is Baja Breeze) and they looked great when I paired them with this patterned paper.   Lastly, I needed a “center” for my flower……….I could have used a brad, a rhinestone, a bead………but then I remembered our cute little Designer Buttons — and there are Riding Hood Red buttons in the box.  So, here is the small button (it has a flower etched in the button, but it did not photo well) and I attached it with our Linen Thread.

This little card was a work in progress……….meaning, I did not think it all out before I made it.  I did not copy any idea or template — it just came together as I made it.  Sometimes these turn out, and sometimes they don’t!  I like this one!

Check back soon for another cute project!  It is a little Mini Book using cardstock, DSP, and this same stamped image.  It is super cute, super easy, and takes very little effort!  I am excited to show it to you!  I will either post it Sunday afternoon or Monday morning.

Have a great Sunday………enjoy your day, whatever you do!  For us, it is the last OFFICIAL day of Christmas break.  We head off to school on Monday.  At this point, I am not scheduled to go back to work.  I am basically “on call” for whenever they need me to return.  In the meantime, I am enjoying my time at home.  I am reading non-British literature 🙂 and crafting………I have made a small baby quilt, crocheted around 2 receiving blankets, baked alot,  scrapbooked some, and stamped some.  I’d say it has been a fun holiday break!

Love to all!!!  Dawn
