Happy Mother’s Day!

I hope you had a very Happy Mother’s Day!!!  We had a very nice day — went out to lunch with all of Charles’ family after church and then came home for a fairly calm afternoon.  I ended up taking the girls shopping this afternoon for some new shorts — the weather is getting hotter and hotter around here, so they thought they needed some new clothes!  Great excuse to get out and shop, huh???  I also got a lovely gift from “Bath Junkie”.  They couldn’t decide on a fragrance for my “bath collection” so I have empty containers and a gift certificate to go and get the products………cool, huh???  I will probably get something citrus-y……..they were closed on Sundays, so I will have to go one day this week.

Charles, his mom, and the girls after we enjoyed eating lunch at Rosa’s.

I have some more Stampin’ Up! projects in the works, but here is a little Post-It Note Holder that uses Chipboard (the monthly special - remember?)  The base of the holder is another coaster (4×4) that I covered with Designer Series Paper.  I used the Berry Bliss Paper — pinks and browns, my personal favorite!  Hiding behind the Monogram is a large black Binder Clip from the office store.  I added some ribbon at the top to dress it up a little bit — I use ribbon on everything, though!  The little chipboard “d” is from the Onboard Lots of Letters (page 179).  First, I inked it up with Pretty in Pink Craft Ink.  I learned from my friends in Florida that you can also use the Craft Re-Inkers and a sponge paintbrush to “paint” the ink onto the chipboard.  It makes it so much easier and not so messy.  You don’t get it all over your fingers!  It also makes the colors so much more vivid.   After letting the craft ink dry, I added Crystal Effects to the chipboard letter.  While it was still wet, I lightly sprinkled some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter onto the letter.  It is even prettier in person than shown on the photo!   Maria and I both made these but she didn’t have any of the black clips so we couldn’t finish them…….Maria, is yours put together yet????  Hope this inspires you to get out your chipboard……..or makes you think about ordering some at 25% off this month.

Have a great day!  I hope you also have a GREAT WEEK!!!!
